I was recently invited back to write for the Raspberry Pi Foundation’s computer science educator magazine Hello World.
In this article, I discussed the educational benefits of using game jams as an educational exercise. In a game we ran at our school, we challenged students to create a green-themed game that related to one of the United Nation’s Social Development Goals in just a single weekend. It was a great opportunity for students to work collaboratively on a real world software development task that also required many links to other areas of the curriculum such as maths, art and music.
